About Mike Thomas
After coming from Alabama through Napa & Sanoma”s wine country in 1973, we sure enjoyed everything about the wine business. I came out to Portland in the lumber business (my company AIFP, needed someone to speak “Southern”). At least 3 times a year, we would organize a wine tour for friends & family. We also would visit wineries on the weekends and met a lot of the winemakers and owners. I think there were only about a dozen in the whole state then; now there are over 400. We knew all the first pioneers – Dick Erath, Dick & Nancy Ponzi, Bill Fuller (Tualatin Vineyards), Pat & Joe Campbell (Elk Cove), Bill & Susan Sokol-Blosser. David Lette (Eyrie) and David Adelsheim.
I have really enjoyed watching our wine industry grow; so when it came time to retire, I decided to turn a hobby into a vocation. I wish I had retired 2-3 years before. We are doing tours and “showing off” our beautiful wineries and vineyards to people from all over the world as well as locals too,
Thanks, Mike Thomas

Enjoyed our wine tour. Great experience, great wine, great people.
Are you the Mike Thomas that graduated with me from BCHS?
